A majority of aerial fire suppression fatalities occur because of LOCIF (Loss of control in flight) or CFIT (controlled flight into terrain). Rich Stowell, a recognized SME, recently produced a Webinar on the subject. Because of the tremendous interest in Rich Stowell’s Webinar, FAA recorded the Webinar so that you can listen to his presentation at your own convenience.  Rich does an outstanding job, but his description of details  may sometimes seem at odds with how you were taught; just go with the flow to the end.  It is well worth your time.
