AIRSPRAY Chico manager RAVI SAIP talked to Chico City Council’s Economic Development Committee last week, introducing himself and his operation.
Airspray is a Canadian firm that flies and leases out firefighting air tankers. Saip is head of the Chico branch, which was opened by Airspray after similar operation Aero Union moved its operation to Sacramento and eventually closed. A number of the employees didn’t go, and Saip has them in a team at an air hangar at the Chico airport.
The Airspray team of 10 employees here is working on transforming a former Air Wisonsin passenger jet into a tanker for the Canadian parent. Saip told the council members he’s been on the road, stopping among other places, including Bulgaria, hunting planes.
Saip is ready to whip out a checkbook for Planes No. 2 and 3 for the Chico operation, and sees at least eight in the future.
I thought this was going to be an article on Aaron Rogers…way to tease a Cheesehead!
