AAF Webmaster stays current in Afghanistan, waiting for airtanker seat.

Dale Head with presentation flag

If you’re wondering who is responsible for the new airtanker.org, it’s our one & only webmaster,  Dale Head.

Brought to you from Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Dale is on his second deployment to Afghanistan. He should be home mid-February, but will miss all his well-deserved accolades at AAF/RNO next week.

In Dale’s words: “I fly various B300 missions (crew of two pilots and 1-2 console operators).

I deploy for 60-90 days at a time. We live two to a 20 foot shipping container…the head is about 40′ walk outside.

I like the mission as I wait for an opportunity to return to firefighting. I feel I am doing something important that affects the lives and well being of our military service members.”

When not flying or attending to various physiological needs, Dale continues his never-ending work on airtanker.org with help from Shaun McFadyen (Vision Quest), Tim Holmes, and Walt Darran in CONUS, while his wife Winnie keeps the fires burning on the home front.

Fly safe Dale, and enjoy the desert sands.  We appreciate your service, and we’ll watch for openings back home for you!
